Also, before you start surfing you want to make sure that you have built up the strength in your body enough to be able to swim in the ocean with a surfboard. Learning how to swim in the ocean is much different than swimming in a pool. Make sure to spend a lot of time practicing swimming in the ocean before you begin surfing. Once you get used to it, then you can begin to practice surfing. Work on your stability, being able to stay steady will help you to stay on your board and on top of the water. It is important for your legs and core to be strong to help you with this. A few sit ups and lungs will make this possible. Having good balance is a must for an enjoyable surfing experience. When you learn to Seaside Surf Shop one thing you will initially practise is lying down on your board and jumping up into a crouched position with your legs spread for balance on the sand at the beach, once you have mastered this technique you are ready to hit the waves. To make this strategy work, you will first need to locate a great wetsuit sale. This is not as hard as you might think since most scuba diving gear retailers have websites that prominently display their sale items on the home page. You can find these easily by conducting an internet search for "wetsuits" or "wetsuit sale" and check the first few search results. Neoprene booties of water shoes can be used during the warm months tp protect your feet from injury, sunburn, and they will also help you from getting cold feet. If you are wearing dry pants or a wetsuit you will also want yo wear some sort of booties for protection as well. Note: neoprene booties are not waterproof and will not keep your feet dry. Leash ties haven't really been given a chance in the surfing industry. In fact, you can't just go buy one at a local surf shop and simply tie the leash back onto your board, and go for another surf. Leash ties have been setup as free items you get when you buy other products. For example, you can get a leash tie when you buy a new leash (around $20-30) or a new pair of baggies (also known as board shorts, and will run you about $45-55). For this "free" product, you end up shelling out a lot of money! Okay now spool the line on your reel and don't wind it on too loosely. Wind your line on through a piece of Styrofoam or anything that will put a little drag on it as fills up your reel. We're not going to deal with a shock leader at this stage. You probably won't be casting that hard anyway. If you don't know what a shock leader is don't worry about it. You can find when you need to know or just look it up. That's too much to get into at this stage. Surfing leads to beach parties, barbeques, and other social events. You develop a new set of friends who enjoy doing the same thing as you do. It is a mellow lifestyle that you carry over to everything you do. Although it can be competitive, it is still mellow. You are in the water feeling the spray on your face, breathing the fresh air, and in a wonderful state of mind. |
